Fame at Last!! Featured in Giftrap Magazine!!

Great news for me this month, I was featured in a full 2 page spread in the retailer's magazine Giftrap!
The editor Gillian Samuel loved the images of my new Quirky Kooky range that I emailed her and a few weeks ago called me up out of the blue for a phone interview!

Never done anything like that before so it was a bit daunting, but she's a great journalist, really easy to talk to and before I knew it we'd been chatting for about half an hour and she had pretty much my whole life story and how I came to be making these quirky cards!

I've never had anything like this happen to me before, it's so exciting!
Already had loads of emails from people who've seen the article!!

The story is online at the Giftrap website or on Twitter.

Fantastic Creatures!!

I've got a new range of cards and I just LOVE 'em!

It was a dream that inspired this range, so it was quite surreal to finally get it into production...They are based on the idea of story books, the kind of wild fantastic creatures that appear in children's books.

The text that you can see is the story and it's as if the animals have come to life from the printed page...kind of how it feels when you're a child!

Then I've finished off the design with some 3D handmade items, to give them a real crafty look.
What do you think?

Handmade is a draw for customers!

I had such a great email from Bernadette of Timeless Emporium in Waverley, a retailer of my cards. I made a small laminated sign for her to put in her window, telling passers by the story of my handmade cards. Here's her email:

"Hi Nat,
I just wanted to thank you for the sign for the window. It's really working! One lady came in and she bought 5 of your cards on Saturday morning and also some skin care and lollies.
She came in because of your sign!"

This makes me so happy! I've since made heaps of these signs for my retailers around Australia and they've had some really great feedback from their customers. People really love locally handmade things, I     guess they're getting harder and harder to find...

NEW DESIGNS!

I've just finished designing a new range, and I'm really excited coz it's one I've had floating around in my brain for a few years now!
I've always had a facination for stencil street art, I've been taking photos of it for years now, all over the world. This new range features some of the very best of those photos.
I hope you enjoy looking at them, the full range can be seen at http://www.natbayley.com/
The original photo for this card was taken in the CBD in Melbourne, there's some really awesome street art there.

Hello and welcome to the world of Nat Bayley Handmade cards!I design and hand-make all the cards myself at my studio by Bondi Beach, Australia.

All the cards have a little story about me on the back:

"This card was handmade just for you in my little studio by Bondi Beach, Australia.

When I was a small girl I made cards for the special people in my life, now I make them for the special people in your life."

The range of cards that I produce are really varied. I use textiles, leaves, 3D items, silk papers, my own photographs, cartoons & art works.I also hand make detachable gifts on a card, including; charms, bookmarks and badges.

The cards are all very high quality 320gsm stiff textured art board,11.3cm wide by 17.5cm high.
Many designs are also available in small gift card size 6.5cm x 9.5cm.

They are packaged with a matching coloured envelope, in a high quality crystal-clear dust & age repellent cello. Each card has a clear "handmade" sticker on the front of the cello and the reverse of each card is printed with my story and a "made in Australia" cartoon logo.

All my cards are blank inside.
